Benfotiamine is a natural form of thiamin (vitamin B1) that was developed to efficiently penetrate through cellular membranes. Benfotiamine metabolizes carbohydrates so they cannot go on to contribute to the formation of harmful end-products.
- Benfotiamine is a synthetic thioester form of thiamin (vitamin B1) developed in Japan in the 1950s
- Helps the body metabolize carbohydrates (i.e. sugars)
- 80 mg capsule
